A business qualification such as a master of business administration (MBA) can open the door to global opportunities and careers based around the world. An MBA is designed to give prospective managers an all-round grounding in the skills they will need, including communication, negotiating, organization and handling finances. FT.com states that a number of business schools now offer MBA courses in conjunction with overseas institutions, giving students a chance to learn and network with other parts of the world. Upon graduation, the newly-minted managers will also have a qualification that is recognized in the international business world. According to the MBA Alliance, the time and money invested in taking an MBA degree can also pay off in terms of employability and earnings. The organisation conducted a survey which found around 80 per cent of top executives said having a graduate qualification such as an MBA is an important factor in reaching top management positions. Furthermore, it said, a study of individuals working in the accounting and finance sector found MBA holders with relevant experience earned an average of $104,284, compared to an average of $88,836 for those with bachelor's degrees.  |
